I used to have a field guide to spiders, when I was 11. I kept a list of all the ones I saw in the back yard. This one is some kind of "orb-web-weaver" but his web looks all fucked up. Did it rain on it?

this was taken early-ish in the night, when he/she/it had just come out of hiding. there was a complex and less-retarded-looking web up about an hour later.
